The “revolving door” of arrests we are seeing in New Mexico highlights only some of the danger Santa Clara County faces with bail reform policy from local Supervisor Cindy Chavez. It falls on prosecutors to show clear and convincing evidence of danger and flight in order to keep a defendant detained without bond. If they can’t meet this standard, defendants will be released on set conditions of release. This is NOT ideal for the victims or our community!
