Yet another example of tax payers money being wasted on re-offending criminals who are released with little more than a slap on the wrist. Barely 45 minutes after being released from custody for shoplifting a bottle of vodka from a store in NJ, Irme Gazso swiped another bottle of rum from a different store, said police who arrested him a second time.
What we are seeing in NJ is that the current trend in criminal justice legislation puts more value on the rights of accused criminals. Even non violent offenders can be a heavy burden on the taxpayers when police have to continuously spend time and resources catching the same person.
Santa Clara County is headed toward the same catch and release disaster that we are seeing in other States with the introduction of bail reform from local official Cindy Chavez.
